Picture Riddle

What do these foods have in common? Did you figure it out yet?

I'm betting you did, but just incase you didn't, here are a few more clues that I wanted to include in the dinner, but didn't get the chance.

OK. If you still have no idea what's going on, here is one more visual aid:

Answer to Riddle: The newest member ("Baby"--as in baby back ribs, baby carrots, Baby Ruth, baby corn, baby spinach, and babies breath)of the Halterman family will be joining us in October (some time around the 20th).

Trenton rides a bike

Trenton is learning to ride a bike. He's not sure how he feels about his helmet, though.

Playing at the Zoo!

Kira and her friend, Bella, thought these eggshells were fun, but the reason we didn't have time to see much more of the zoo was that Trenton did not want to get off of these real tractors.

Petting Zoo

Trenton loved getting to know the sheep and the goats in the petting zoo part of the Phoenix Zoo.

Kira, on the othe hand, wasn't so sure.

The Wheels on the BUS!

Trenton got to go on his first school bus ride, when we went along on Kira's school field trip to the zoo. It wasn't until the next field trip that Kira's teacher realized we weren't supposed to have him on the bus. Oops! Oh well! It was a lucky mistake, because I think he enjoyed the bus more than the zoo.

Happy Pizza!

We have a babysitting group with some of our friends in the ward. When it is our turn to babysit, we try and make it fun! Here are Kira and Halle with the smiley face pizzas they created.

Prescott Presents

Yes, there were more presents waiting for us in Prescott, as well as some fun times with some great people (All of Barry's family, except Mikelle and Bobby.)

Time to Say Goodbye

Leaving Papa & Lita house in Springville, Utah and heading for Prescott.

The Presents!

The first thing Trenton opened was a toolbox full of play tools. He would have been content to play with that all day long. When his Dad tried to interest him in another present, he cried "Don't take away my tools!" We'll have to tell Santa to just bring one present next year. :-)

Christmas Morning--2006 Utah

Coming to find the presents!

Waiting for the green light to open the presents--Dad (and pregnant Shanda) insisted on a little nourishment before starting the marathon.

Papa reads the Book of Mormon Christmas story before we start. (We did Luke 2 the night before).

Christmas Eve Jammies!

Lita (my Mom) nearly kills herself each Christmas making PJ's for each of her grandchildren. The problem is that there are more each year. I don't know what she is going to do! Anyway, here are the cute kids that celebrated Christmas in Utah this year, modeling their new jammies with their Lita.

Marry Christmes to jeZus!

Kira wrote this message on the fridge at Lita's house:

"The brick house"

One of the traditions of cookie painting with the Hansen's is that each year at least one of us will go way over board and spend hours painting one cookie that is ridiculously detailed. This year, I claimed the honor with my red brick house. My nephew liked it, too. He ate it before I was quite ready to see it go. Ah, well! At least we have pictures! :-)

Painting Cookies

The thing that makes these cookies so special is that each on is hand painted (with frosting, of course).

Baking the cookies

Kira says "its lots of fun !"

(She's helping me with the postings, today!)

Cookies with Lita

My kids got to participate in the baking of the traditional Hansen holiday cookies! They loved being in the kitchen with their Grandma...and eating the dough.

Cousin love

Kira decided that she LOVES her cousin Addie. They were the only two girl cousins in Utah this time. I'm not sure that Addie reciprocated as much affection as Kira would have liked. Kira complained that it wasn't fair that her own cousin didn't like her.

One-(Little) Man-Show

After the birthday festivities, Trenton decided to provide the entertainment. He started with a strip-tease ("Look I can take off my diaper by myself!") but when he got his Captain Camo jammies on, he became quite the singing machine. He sang every song we requested--Our favorite being "Nuttin' For Christmas"--and after each song gave a very deep bow and awaited our applause. My kids definitely inherited the ham gene!

Special birthday guests!

Trenton is always special, but we were excited that Barry' sister, Mikelle, and her husband, Bobby, braved the icy roads to spend the evening with us. We don't get to see them too often.
